Join WAM Collective and the U of M College of Design for their second annual design competition, Threads. Ten U of M apparel design students will go head to head as they create and present original garments inspired by WAM exhibition Laylah Ali: The Greenheads Series and their own personal identities. Hair and makeup stylings courtesy of Juut Salon will complete the looks as they are sent down the runway. Each garment will be judged by a panel of artists, designers, and style experts from the Twin Cities, and the winners will walk away with a package of covetable prizes. In addition to the runway show and Q&A sessions with each designer, the event will also feature a dance performance by House of John Mark, a VIP lounge for WAM members, and a cash bar for all attendees. This event is free for WAM members and U of M students and $5 for general admission. Tickets will sell out quickly, be sure to reserve your spot early.
