10–Year Anniversary Tour
As part of Northrop's new yearly commitment to presenting the work of George Balanchine in the Twin Cities, we are excited to present the Minnesota debut of one of ballet's most acclaimed artists, Suzanne Farrell. A legendary figure in the dance world, Suzanne Farrell is considered to be the most influential American ballerina of the late 20th century and emerged as the most inspiring ballet teacher and director after retiring in 1989. As part of the Balanchine Preservation Initiative, Farrell is dedicated to continuing the legacy of George Balanchine's classic, rarely seen, or "lost" work. The two programs roughly trace the chronology of her mentor's work and her own experiences with the Bejart Ballet.
