Description:

Life is dependent on soils and soils are dependent on life. From bacteria to pocket gophers and fungi, soils are teeming with life! Here's your chance to visit with some cockroaches that specialize in decomposing plants and animals into soil nutrients.

Explore specimens of strange creatures adapted to living underground and make a rotting log crown of mushrooms. You can even go on a special adventure scavenger hung of the museum's dioramas in search of creatures that live underground!
