Paul O. Zelinsky is recognized as one of the most inventive and critically successful artists in his field. Zelinsky's illustrations have won wide acclaim and many awards, including the Caldecott Medal for his retelling of Rapunzel and three Caldecott Honors, for Hansel and Gretel, Rumpelstiltskin, and Swamp Angel. His movable "Wheels on the Bus" has become a perennial favorite among toddlers. He illustrated Kelly Bingham's Z is for Moose, which in 2012 received six starred reviews from the six major star-awarding review journals. Known for the variability of style and genre in his books, Zelinsky says "I think I am recognized for being unrecognizable."
