Courageous Conversations: The Dynamics of an Aging Workforce in the Thief River Falls Region

9/28/18, 9:00 AM

About this event

How can we make older workers part of the solution to the workforce challenges in the state’s Northwest region? What conversations need to happen -- between employers and employees, in different types of communities -- to best engage older workers to keep Minnesota’s economy strong?

Event Details:
Friday, September 28
9:00 a.m.: Coffee and social time
9:30 - 11:00 a.m.: Round table guided discussion

Quality Inn Thief River Falls
1060 Hwy 32 South
Thief River Falls, MN 56701

Join us for an intimate conversation with employers, employees, community leaders, and others interested in the shifting demographics in the workforce, and how those dynamics are uniquely impacting Thief River Falls and the surrounding communities. This convening will be focused on sharing data, exploring ideas, and generating best practices.

Series moderator Gary Eichten, MPR News editor-at-large and retired host, will guide our conversation, and stakeholders will briefly share context on the region’s economic dynamics to frame our convening.

Brought to you by the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs, with generous support from the McKnight Foundation.
