Exhibition | Smashing the Invisible
1/16/18, 11:00 AM
About this event
Minneapolis-based artist Mary Simon-Casati explores how to make the invisible, visible through abstraction. After the death of her mother, Simon-Casati turned to literature on physics and began a series of conversations with astrophysicist Dr. Liliya Williams. Both talked about the intersection of art and physics and came to an understanding that artists and scientists attempt to make the invisible, visible. Mary Simon-Casati is a fiscal year 2017 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. More info at http://z.umn.edu/14to.
