U-Spatial Presents

U-Spatial Brown Bag Series: Jacob Hartle, An Introduction to Data Interoperability in ArcGIS Pro

3/1/17, 12:00 PM

About this event

With ArcGIS Desktop eventually being phased out in 2022, now is an excellent time to familiarize yourself with Esri’s newer GIS software package, ArcGIS Pro. From now until 2022, ArcGIS Pro will continue to receive more and more functionality, leading it to be the most dynamic Esri product to date. Added in version 1.3, the Data Interoperability extension was one of the more recent additions to ArcGIS Pro. It is not a carbon copy of the extension of the same name from the Desktop program, and there is a small learning curve to completing the same tasks in ArcGIS Pro.

The Quick Import and Quick Export tools that were included with the Data Interoperability extension in Desktop are not present in ArcGIS Pro. To become more accustomed with ArcGIS Pro’s Interoperability extension, we will go over the basics of the FME Workbench and Spatial ETL tools included with the extension. This will include a demo of creating a Spatial ETL tool and defining the parameters within the FME Workbench.
