Dr. Anne Basting, a University of Minnesota alumna and MacArthur Genius Award winner (2016), presents her lecture, “Arts & Aging: The Cultural Cure.” This free presentation will be held at the Rarig Center on the West Bank campus, in the Whiting Proscenium Theatre. Light refreshments follow the talk.
Basting, Director of UW-Milwaukee’s Center on Age & Community and a faculty member of the UW-Milwaukee's Theatre Department, is the founder of TimeSlips. She has spent over 15 years researching and developing methods of embedding the arts into long-term care, with a particular focus on people with cognitive disabilities.
