Returning to the Accountable Care Movement

4/24/18, 12:00 PM

About this event

Tuesday, April 24, 2018
12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Cowles Auditorium, Humphrey School of Public Affairs

The push to reform health care 8 years ago focused on expanding access and reducing the numbers who lack coverage. Controlling health care costs was not a central concern but is now gaining growing national and state attention. National expenditures did decline after the passage of health reform in 2010, but costs are now rising across the country and in Minnesota. Paul Ginsburg is one of the country's most prominent health economists and a go-to source for strategies to control rising health care costs. Mr. Ginsburg will discuss the health care reform debate and strategies for cost control that Minnesota and other states should consider.

Panel:

Paul Ginsburg, Leonard D. Schaeffer Chair in Health Policy Studies, Brookings Institution

Martha Leclerc, Vice President Corporate Contracting, Sanford Health

Julie Sonier, President, MN Community Measurement
