Time: 12:15 PM
Did you know that the University of Minnesota is located in a National Park on one of the great rivers of the world? Join us for a guided walk of the East Bank River Flats led by staff of the River Life Program.
We will meet at the back doors of Coffman Union -- overlooking Delaware Street (at the food court level) -- at 12:15 p.m. We will walk down to the river via the stairway, cross the river road and go down onto the flats. There, we'll talk about water: When does the river flood here? How high? Does it flood more or less than it used to? We can also talk about land: who owns these flats? Have they always been this kind of playground and parking lot?
Please note: if there is rain or snow at 11:00 that morning, or if precipitation is predicted to be imminent, the River Walk will be postponed.
