Time: 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: U of M Bookstore Twin Cities,Coffman Memorial Union
Holocaust survivor, author and retired University of Minnesota professor Dr. Robert Fisch will discuss his new book, Fisch Stories: Reflections on Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, on Thursday, February 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the University of Minnesota Bookstore in Coffman Memorial Union, 300 Washington Ave. S.E. Minneapolis.
Dr. Fisch, a native of Budapest, Hungary, delivers a collection of stories based on his reflections of the Holocaust, Hungarian revolution, journey to America and his work as a doctor, artist, and humanitarian. Each of the stories showcases the presence or absence of his six guiding values of: compassion, equal treatment, children, humor, suffering and the value of remaining humane even in inhumane circumstances. At times funny and solemn, humane and barbaric, historical and philosophical, Fisch Stories captures the universal desire to sustain life.
Fisch will sign copies of his book following the discussion. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, or to order a signed copy visit www.bookstore.umn.edu/genref/authors.html.
