Born in 1983, Alexis Ohanian is an entrepreneur and investor in Brooklyn, NY, best known as the co-founder of the social news site reddit. Ohanian's new book, Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made Not Managed, is a call to action that combines advice for building successful startup ventures and marketing secrets with examples of heartwarming stories about using the Internet for grass-roots campaigns.

Ohanian brings his traveling talking tour to the University of Minnesota Campus on October 24, 2013 at the Bell Museum of Natural History.

Following a brief introduction, Ohanian will respond to questions posted to the University's subreddit and then be joined by Shilad Sen, a Ph.D. graduate of the University's computer science program and professor at Macalester College, for a conversation about the role of online communities in creating amazing things.

This event is co-sponsored by SOBACO and bswing.

Copies of Ohanian's book will be available for purchase at the event courtesy of University Bookstores.
