Wrestling with classical and contemporary issues, Joan: Voices in the Fire asks: “If a saint, like Joan of Arc would emerge from today’s global chaos and religious strife, could she ignite a movement to save us given our differences?” Ten different Joans reflect on facets of that idea drawing from Shakespeare, Anouilh, Shaw, Voltaire, Twain and Davidowitz. Originally devised by Columbia University students with Kristin Linklater, Becky Wright, and Stacy Davidowitz, this play is performed by members of the BFA/Guthrie Theater Actor Training program senior class and directed by Austene Van. Contains strong language and stage violence. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
