How Will Medical Care Change After Health Reform? Patient Care and Payment Reform

Date: 05/31/2013

Time: 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM

Location: Cowles Auditorium Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs

Cost: Free

Description:

Minnesota has long been a national leader in delivering high quality care while restraining costs. Before the enactment of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA), Minnesota was experiencing a new era of collaboration among doctors, hospitals, insurers, and employers. The ACA creates new opportunities to leverage Minnesota’s success by encouraging multi-payer collaborations and by expanding such collaborative efforts as Minnesota Community Measurement. Michael Guyette, president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, will give the introduction, followed by a panel including Bob Berenson, M.D. of the Urban Institute; Ken Paulus, president and CEO of Allina; and Lucinda Jesson, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Human Services. The conversation will be moderated by Professor Larry Jacobs.
