Andrea Cochran: Landscapes
September 4–October 24
Lecture and reception with Andrea Cochran
Monday, October 4, 6 PM, 100 Rapson Hall and HGA Gallery
Cochran sculpts and navigates space through a seamless integration of landscape, art and architecture. Her work draws boundaries with a controlled palette of materials, creating permeable edges that blur the line between the natural and built environment. Spare geometry applied to vibrant plant life results in sharp compositional order. This exercise in restraint heightens a sense of the elements—texture, light, and movement.
Based in San Francisco, Andrea Cochran, FASLA, was recently honored as one of the Landscape Design Award finalists in the Cooper Hewitt 2010 National Design Awards.
