Mentors can play an important and life-changing role in women’s lives. At the P & A Women’s Council’s spring event, learn the importance of both being mentored and being a mentor; understand the role that mentors can play in your life; and learn how to make meaningful mentor relationships outside of your workplace.
Keynote speaker Pam Borton is head coach of the University of Minnesota women’s basketball team and co-founder of TeamWomenMN, an organization that advances women’s careers and professional skills by providing them with mentors. Pam’s keynote, “Beyond the Cube Walls: Finding Mentors in Unexpected Places” will provide insight into cross-generational mentoring and searching outside of your department for mentors.
Following the keynote, Dr. Joy Frestedt, who leads TeamWomenMN’s mentor program, will provide key insights about how to have a successful mentor/mentee relationship. To round out the morning, Jerilyn Veldof, Librarian and main facilitator for University Libraries Organizational Development office, will lead the group in an interactive mentoring activity.
Come prepared to network and potentially meet your next mentor or mentee. We hope you can join us!
EVENT IS OPEN TO PROFESSIONAL & ADMINISTRATIVE UMN WOMEN EMPLOYEES ONLY.
