Call to Action is a 2-day conference for all students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members to discuss topics around gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and ally (GLBTA) identities on college campuses and the greater community. Attendees will network, discuss LGBT topics, be challenged, and learn valuable skills around building coalitions, fostering activism, and developing leadership through a lens of social justice.
The theme of this year’s conference is Call to Action: Movements, Momentum, and Milestones. The theme is about fostering a sense of community activism with academics, commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the GLBTA Programs Office’s existence at the UofM, and recognize where we as a GLBTA community on and off campus can continue to build momentum in social justice.
Keynote Speakers include: Roxanne Anderson- Director of the Minnesota Transgender Health Coalition and Rare Productions; Julio Salgado- Co-founder of DreamersAdrift.com; and Amber Hollibaugh- Executive Director of the Queers for Economic Justice
