Time: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Please join us Friday, February 15th at 4:00pm for a reading and Q&A with rising literary star Justin Torres. The gay son of a Puerto Rican father and white mother, Justin's debut novel 'We The Animals' mirrors his own biography and offers a fresh take on the timeworn coming-of-age story.
Justin Torres was raised in upstate New York. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Granta, Harper’s, Tin House, and Glimmer Train. A graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop, he was the recipient of a Rolón Fellowship in Literature from United States Artists and a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford. His debut novel, We The Animals, was published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in September 2011. Justin recently received a National Book Foundation “5 Under 35” Award, and is currently a Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University.
