Professional restaurant critics are considered experienced, objective and knowledgeable. But thousands of amateurs are posting their critiques online, too. Do they practice good media ethics principles like avoiding conflicts of interest, refusing special treatment, or correcting mistakes?
This year’s Annual Silha Lecture will address these questions and more. The discussion will be led by Lynne Rossetto Kasper, author, co-creator and host of American Public Media’s national radio show, “The Splendid Table.” Jane and Michael Stern, known for their Roadfood.com website, will also be at the table. They will be joined by a fourth “Mystery Guest,” a Twin Cities-based reviewer who is also a James Beard Foundation winner – and who hopes to maintain anonymity! The lecture will include a question and answer session, and a book signing will close the evening.
This event is free and open to the public. No reservations are required.
