The State of the Interior Design Profession (Fairchild Books, 2010) is a “must-read” book that draws on the perspectives of more than 80 practitioner authors to address 12 issues critical to the interior design profession. Hear about the impetus for the book and why certain issues and authors were chosen to be highlighted. College of Design faculty members and editors Caren Martin and Denise Guerin and three local contributors to the book will discuss the value of interior design, the body of knowledge and its relationship to welfare, evidence-based design, factors influencing practice, and regulation of interior design practice.
