The Migration Letter: Archiving Intimacy in the Postal Era

Beginning in the early afternoon of May 17 and continuing until noon, May 18 our symposium, titled The Migration Letter: Archiving Intimacy in the Postal Era, will include a keynote address by Norwegian scholar Orm Overlund, and five panels that will assess recent scholarship on letter-writing in the context of international migration, introduce participants to research on Asian and European migrants to Canada and the U.S., and encourage discussions of how archives holding collections letters written by or to immigrants can work most effectively with researchers, teachers, and communities.
